(PREP-U) Program

Definition:

The PREP-U Program is a pregnancy/parenting intervention and prevention program specifically designed to identify, assess, train, educate, and counsel women who are developmentally disabled.

Service Goals:

To teach effective parenting and promote personal development, personal health, parental responsibilities, age appropriate child management and good housekeeping skills.

Target Population:

Women with developmental disabilities, ages 13 to 35, who are pregnant, parenting and / or sexually active.

Type of Activities:

Educational group sessions, counseling, supportive and linkage services, and advocacy.

Service Boundaries:

City and some surrounding suburban communities.
