Parents & Tots Therapeutic Recreational Parenting Program
Definition:
The Parents/Tots Program reinforces and instills long-term parenting
skills in new and first time mothers and fathers. Therapeutic activities
are used to teach parents how to nurture, bond, cope with and
parent their children in loving, positive ways.
Service Goals:
To prevent child abuse and neglect.
Target
Population:
Parents and/or children, 0 to 5 years of age, who are developmentally
disabled.
Types of Activities:
Music, dance, repetitive play, storytelling, games, reading,
and parent/child interactive play.
